Road Safety, Safe Driving & Drug Prevention Awareness Session Held on 27-08-2025 at KMU-IMS Kohat
In a significant initiative to raise awareness on public safety and social well-being, Khyber Medical University-Institute of Medical Sciences (KMU-IMS) Kohat hosted an impactful event on Road Safety, Safe Driving, and Drug Prevention.
The session was honored by the presence of PSP Officer Kohat, Mr. Malik Bedar Bakht; Additional Traffic In-charge Kohat, Mr. Arab Jan; Vice principal Prof. Dr. Arshad Farzooq; Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ishtiaq; Dr. Zakia Subhan; Dr. Muhammad Kabir, along with many faculty members and students.
*Inaugural Session*
The event commenced with a soulful recitation from the Holy Quran, setting a respectful and purposeful ambiance for the proceedings.
*Keynote Address by PSP Officer Malik Bedar Bakht*
Delivering the keynote address, PSP Officer Mr. Malik Bedar Bakht shared an enlightening talk on:
• Road Safety & Safe Driving Practices
• Prevention & Control of Drug Addiction
• Drug Abuse Among Students
He emphasized the crucial role of youth in promoting a safe, responsible, and drug-free society, urging students to take the lead in creating awareness within their communities.
*Address by Additional Traffic In-charge, Mr. Arab Jan*
Mr. Arab Jan delivered an insightful session on:
• Causes & Prevention of Road Accidents
• Traffic Rules & Regulations
• Impact of Drug Use Among Drivers
He encouraged students to become ambassadors of road safety and to strictly follow traffic laws to reduce preventable accidents.
*Interactive Session on CSS Orientation*
In an added highlight, PSP Officer Malik Bedar Bakht engaged students from KMU-IMS, KMU-IDS, and KMU-IHS Kohat in an interactive session on CSS exam orientation and preparation strategies, which was highly appreciated by the participants.
*Awareness Walk*
The event concluded with a symbolic awareness walk, jointly organized by KMU-IMS Administration and the Police Department Kohat. Faculty members, students, and dignitaries actively participated, demonstrating their commitment to road safety, responsible driving, and a drug-free lifestyle.This initiative reflects KMU-IMS Kohat, unwavering dedication to nurturing responsible, law-abiding, and socially conscious healthcare professionals who contribute to a safer and healthier society.
